CROSSFIT FOR CLIMBING JANUARY PROGRAM
The goal of the program is to build strength, power and endurance so a climber can go faster farther, feel stronger, be mentally tougher and more resistant to injury in the alpine environment.

Favourite Exercise: CHALK !! ……. Yes, I realize chalk is not technically an exercise so I pick HANDSTANDS! Anything involving a handstand. Handstand holds, handstand push-ups, handstand walking. Basically I love to play upside down.
Least favourite exercise: ROWING!! I find it boring and it NEVER feels good. Not even when I’m done.
What you enjoy to do outside of the gym: My favourite thing to do when I’m not at the gym is hang out with my dogs.

Favourite exercise: I’m a big fan of light to moderate weight barbell complexes and just about anything with Kettlebells.
Least favourite exercise: My least favourite movement that has been programmed as an exercise is the pistol. The one legged squat has its place as a movement, but in my opinion, it shouldn’t be utilized as a high rep, speed and volume exercise.
What you enjoy to do outside the gym: pretty much anything outdoors. Being inside all the time sucks. In my current state of affairs, just walking would be nice, playing with my kids, climbing and scrambling, cyclocross, Krav Maga!

RECIPE OF THE MONTH:
PUMPKIN & NUT BUTTER POWER BALLS
Ingredients:– 1 cup oats (or substitute nuts and seeds)
– 1/4 cup flax meal– 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
– 1/4 cup nut butter
– 1/4 cup canned pumpkin- 2 Tbs maple syrup
– 1 Tbs honey
– 1 tsp vanilla
– 1 tsp chocolate chips/raisins
Mix all ingredients together. Set in fridge for 15-20min. Roll into balls, OR spread in pan to make bars. Keep stored in freezer to hold texture.
